Roles of a Lab Assistant:

As a lab assistant, some of your responsibilities and duties may vary throughout the day. However, there are some main functions that you may be expected to perform every day:

• Setting up and maintaining laboratory equipments
• Collecting and preparing samples for analysis
• Preparing solutions and reagents
• Assisting with experiments and data collection
• Conducting basic laboratory procedures, such as pipetting, centrifuging                                                                                       and incubating
• Maintaining laboratory records and documenting experimental procedures
• Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory equipments
• Providing general support to researchers and scientists

 

Salary of Lab Assistant:

After completing the Lab Assistant course, you are qualified to work in labs where                                   diagnostic tests are conducted. The position can be part-time at small diagnostic labs or full time at large research facilities. Your salary will be determined by the type of facility and location you choose to work in. However the average salary of a Lab Assistant is around 16000/month.

 

Lab Assistant Appointment:

After you complete the laboratory assistant training, you can receive an appointment as a technician. The salary may vary depending on the type of facility you work in, whether it is private or government research or diagnostic facilities.
