A radiology technician, also known as a radiographer or radiologic technologist, is a healthcare professional who specializes in producing and interpreting medical images using advanced imaging technologies such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound. These images are used by physicians to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.

Radiology Technicians have a wide variety of job prospects in the radiology field. They receive a steady pay check, and can enjoy a long-term career. Since developing further in the past few years, there has been an increase in the development of the radiology career ladder. Certified individuals start their careers by becoming junior radiologic technologists or one of several different types of technicians (x-ray technician, CT scan technician or MRI technician.) This allows them to upgrade their qualifications through experience and take up the position of radiologic technologist or radiographer which then allows them to progress to senior radiology technologist / radiographer. From this position they will go on to become an assistant technical supervisor, moving up to become technical supervisors.
